It's good to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jocelyn Hamsher, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate your mental health journey.

With 14 years of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, I now specialize in treating trauma, addiction, depression, and anxiety. I started my private practice because I’m passionate about helping people heal from trauma and start living the life they desire.

Nothing motivates me more than seeing my clients apply the concepts they learn to make real change in their lives. I’m here to tell you that you deserve to experience peace and healing, and that it is an achievable goal that we can work toward together.
Let's Work Together

My Story:

I majored in psychology with a minor in anthropology at Arizona State University, and completed my graduate program at Grand Canyon University. During that time I interned at a private practice where I was trained in equine-assisted psychotherapy and worked with kids in foster care. For my practicum, I worked at The Meadows, a world-renowned treatment facility specializing in trauma and addiction.

Upon graduating, I worked as a family counselor, a primary counselor, and eventually a clinical supervisor before opening my private practice. I have also been a board-approved clinical supervisor for seven years, supervising clinicians both at the inpatient level and those running their own practices.

Over the course of my training and career, I’ve come to realize that life doesn’t happen in a vacuum.  We are whole people, and health cannot be compartmentalized. Things like quality sleep, good nutrition, and daily movement play a huge role in mental health. That's why I value holistic care. In my practice,  I focus on body, mind, and spirit, because I believe all areas of life are connected, and each area impacts the others.

My Training & Qualifications:

My training includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Traumatic Stress Studies (TSS), and qualification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Multiple Addictions Therapist (Financial Disorders) through IITAP.

I’ve also studied nutrition, integrative medicine, and grief therapy. In my practice, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, bibliotherapy, motivational interviewing, and experiential therapy to provide an individualized approach.
